NUTS:

The features list seems long and integration with the applied ballistics data seemed promising. As an avid golfer I have owned multiple Bushnell range finders and am currently using the Bushnell Tour V4 JOLT; I say this only because the first thing I noticed when I picked up the Nitro 1800 and pressed the buttons was that it felt lighter and cheaper (Its also smaller but that’s a good thing IMO).
“Most of Bushnells hunting lineup is flawed, they aren’t water proof…this applies to the Nitro 1800”
One other thing I find frustrating about most of bushnells hunting lineup is they aren’t water proof…this applies to the Nitro 1800, again the golf ones are…This is complete crap, I carry an umbrella and when golfing leave my range finder in my bag when not in use so its either in my hand under an umbrella or in my bag under an umbrella. Hunting I find myself in rain gear and any accessories I use are exposed to the elements.
Being able to link it to my kestrel weather station is awesome and saves headaches.
The app is servery limited out of the box and this is by design as they want you to pay for upgrades, again total bull shit. and to get full functionality you need to fork out another 150 bucks.
It takes declination from your phone, but again I cant imagine it would take much to build in a compass and have this right in the unit.
One other issue and I need to investigate this is when I shoot distance its different than my golf range finder I’m not sure if this is because I’m using bow more or what but I’m looking into it.
In all its not a bad range finder but for the price I expect more, not being waterproof, and needing the app upgrade is the biggest downsides to me, I only can go with 3 nuts for this one.
For a good entry option get a Bushnell Hunting Laser Rangefinder
